The British Open Show Jumping Championships is excited to welcome the return of the famous Metropolitan Police with their high-speed Activity Ride to Birmingham’s NEC from 16th – 19th April 09. As part of the headline entertainment on offer at the show, the Metropolitan Police Activity Ride sponsored by Equimax Tabs, is assured to have the audience on the edge of their seats.
The magnificent Ride, will consist of eight active Police Officers and their horses demonstrating their unbelievable level of skill and agility, which has resulted from intense and dedicated training. Extraordinary levels of flair and agility are needed from both horse and officer. Split-second timing and total commitment are vital as the horses leap through rings of fire, a solid paper wall and complete impossibly fast crossovers. In one segment the riders remove their stirrups, tunics and saddles before jumping a series of brush fences.
‘The ride is fast paced and exciting to watch. There has to be total trust between the officers and their horses, the bonds they form are very strong and will be demonstrated throughout each performance.’ said Inspector Alan Hiscox, the Training Officer who also leads the display.
Equimax Tabs have been named as the official sponsor of the Metropolitan Police Activity Ride at the 2009 British Open.
Equine Product Manager, Callum Blair said, “We are delighted to sponsor the Metropolitan Police Activity Ride. A great show favourite; all the team horses are wormed using new Equimax Tabs, an easy, stress-free way to worm all horses and ponies. One tube of 8 tablets will treat up to 800kg bodyweight, making them especially convenient for large horses and busy yards.”
Also at the show, leading British rider and two times Champion, Robert Whitaker, will return to defend his title as the 2008 British Open Show Jumping Champion and compete in the top speed and jump-off classes on offer.
Jean François Pignon is also back by popular demand! Witness a totally unique and inspiring display of unsurpassed horsemanship. On Saturday evening, the world’s top eventers will compete at Britain’s most prestigious indoor cross country event. Famous faces such as Pippa Funnell, William Fox-Pitt and Zara Phillips will be invited to participate in this hugely popular discipline.
