The British Open Show Jumping Championships (16th – 19th April 2009) will once again host the highly acclaimed Indoor Cross Country Championship at Birmingham’s NEC. The qualifier, at Addington Equestrian Centre, Buckinghamshire, will see competitors battling it out for the three wildcard places on offer. Taking place on 27th February 2009, the qualifier will provide an opportunity for riders to make the grade for the British Open Indoor Cross Country Championship and compete alongside some of the most famous names in the world of eventing.
On Saturday 18th April, during the British Open’s evening performance, the world’s top eventers will be invited to compete at Britain’s most prestigious indoor cross country event. Famous faces such as William Fox-Pitt, Zara Phillips and Oliver Townend have all previously competed in the event and will once again be invited to participate in this hugely popular discipline at the 2009 show. The course at the British Open comprises bespoke cross country fences and show jumps and is enhanced with vibrant music. The atmosphere is electric as leading British and foreign eventers showcase cross country in an unprecedented way and in a totally unique environment.
